Shalabh and Julia bring 20+ years of experience to Liber Management. They worked together in Boston for 5 years, both graduated from the same business school and are first-generation immigrants to the US. They have joined forces to build Liber Management to combine their professional interest in entrepreneurship with their passion for small businesses.
Shalabh grew up in India and his entrepreneurship journey started by launching a web designing company at the age of 13. His interest in small businesses was ignited while working at a small education technology firm. He then went on to help small to medium-sized businesses on various financial transactions. These formative experiences instilled in him a deep admiration and passion for small businesses.
Shalabh went on to work with Fortune 100 companies as a Manager at Ernst and Young working on various strategy and transaction projects. Through his journey, Shalabh has cultivated a strong appreciation for the intricacies of people management, client relations, and operational excellence. He has managed and mentored multiple cross-functional teams and has successfully led sales and cultivated key client relationships. Through Liber Management, Shalabh aims to operate and grow a small business combining insights from both small firms and large corporations.
Shalabh enjoys community involvement and has volunteered as a Finance Director for a Boston-based non-profit. In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, running, surfing and scuba diving.
Shalabh holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master’s in Finance from Boston College.
Julia is from a small town in Russia and grew up seeing her dad running various small businesses in construction and services. She witnessed her father navigate both the triumphs and challenges that come with running a small business. Early in her life she learned the importance of integrity, hard work and resilience.
Julia has 8 years of experience as a Manager at Ernst and Young. Julia managed the largest legal entity restructuring projects at EY and her experience spans various industries, including aerospace & defense, life science, and consumer goods. Julia is most proud of the 15+ employees that she mentored and the client relationships that she helped create and nurture. She is now determined to find and grow a company that embodies her family's values of integrity, honesty, and hard work.
Throughout her life, Julia remained deeply committed to her community. Julia has served her community by mentoring teenagers and provided pro bono consulting service to various non-profits in Boston. Julia enjoys surfing, reading Russian literature, and spending time with friends and family.
Julia received an MBA from Harvard Business School. She also holds B.A and M.A in Economics and Finance from Higher School of Economics.
